Wedding shows are a great resource for couples planning their wedding but be warned, you can experience a feeling of being overwhelmed once you attend one. Here are some tips to make sure you are prepared and get the most out of your show experience.

Here are a few things you can expect when you attend a show, crowds, food samples, décor ideas, giveaways, fashion shows, and everything you could possibly need to plan your wedding and more. It does not matter where you are in the planning stages since there will be something for everyone.

PRE-REGISTER
If possible just like when you already have tickets to a concert or movie you will get more of a VIP experience and most of the time skip the long registration line.

LABELS
This will make you look like an EXPERT! There will be many opportunities for you to enter to win prizes or give your information to professionals you want to have for your wedding so save your hand and time by bringing labels to sign up for all these things.  You can use return labels or create labels, be sure to include your name, email and wedding date. (EXPERT TIP: Create a dedicated wedding email since you will receive many emails from attending the shows)

AVAILABILITY
Before you fall in love with a vendor or product always make sure one of the first questions you ask is if they are available for your wedding day. If you do not have a date yet, but have an idea of what month that is always helpful too!

ASK QUESTIONS
This is a great opportunity for you to gain as much knowledge as you can so ask as many questions as you can! Most wedding pros will give you invaluable information that will help in planning your special day.

COMFY SHOES
You will be on your feet all day so be sure to wear something comfortable.  And if you have a big reusable bag bring it as you will pick up tons of brochures and business cards.  If you pre-registered most shows will give you a bag to hold everything– bonus!

DON’T RUSH
Make a day of it! With a number of wedding pros at these shows, it could take two months to see the same number of pros if you drove to each of their locations. Who has time for that?
