Does my wedding venue need uplighting?

Is uplighting essential? Not exactly. However, if you're not thrilled with plain walls or a lackluster ceiling, uplighting can redirect attention and create a captivating atmosphere. Even on a tight budget, uplighting can make a significant impact by enhancing decor and transforming basic walls into something spectacular.

Are there different kinds of uplighting?

Absolutely! There are countless uplighting options, from wired to wireless fixtures, with LED lights being the most popular choice today. While some companies still use older, clunky, wired fixtures, at Arpeggio Wedding Entertainment, we use only wireless LED fixtures.

LED fixtures can range from RGB (Red/Green/Blue) to RGBAW (Red/Green/Blue/Amber/White), allowing for a broader spectrum of colors. The addition of amber and white enables subtle nuances, from soft whites to vibrant ambers.

High-quality uplighting fixtures offer features like color-changing, fading, syncing with music, and creating dynamic light shows via remote or computer control.

What color uplighting is best for my wedding?

Choosing the right uplighting color involves several considerations:

  • The existing colors of the space and furniture (chairs, walls, ceiling, etc.)
  • The type of venue (windows, natural light, high ceilings, structural focal points)
  • Your desired color palette and aesthetic (floral arrangements, table linens, etc.)

Soft whites are popular for their crisp, neutral, and classic look. They’re also gentle on the eyes.

Deep colors can dramatically alter the atmosphere, lending a bold, modern feel to the room. However, be cautious: too much of the wrong deep color can be harsh on the eyes, as they’re not accustomed to the intense light emitted by LEDs. A skilled lighting designer can help you strike the perfect balance.

Lighting and color profoundly affect the ambiance of a space. Whether you're aiming for a lively, modern party vibe or a soft, romantic atmosphere, uplighting can help you achieve your desired mood.
