Questions You Forgot to Ask Your DJ

No questions are too silly to ask but we know sometimes you don't know what to ask. Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions we get from couples planning their wedding day.

Questions You Forgot to Ask Your DJ

Q: How far in advance should I book my DJ?

A: At Arpeggio Wedding Entertainment, we recommend booking anywhere from six months to two years in advance. Waiting too long may result in being unable to secure your preferred DJ or company for your special day.

Q: When will my DJ arrive?

A: We will arrive approximately one hour prior to the event start time if we are providing DJ service alone. However, if we are coordinating other services, we might need to arrive earlier than an hour prior.

Q: How do I know if I’m paying too much or too little for a DJ?

A: DJ pricing varies based on several factors, such as the date, day of the week, month, and season. Other considerations include the time-range, equipment required, ceremony coverage, and venue location. We ensure fair and appropriate pricing, reflecting our high standards and professionalism, making your wedding experience unforgettable.

Q: Will the venue or I have to provide anything for the DJ?

A: All we require is an 8ft or 6ft banquet table with linen for our setup.

Q: Will you contact me prior to my event to go over details and timelines?

A: Two weeks before your wedding day, we'll schedule a time to review the information you entered in your client portal, ensuring everything is perfectly coordinated. Learn more about our online client portal here.

Q: Does the DJ take requests?

A: It's entirely up to you! We can choose not to take requests or do so with discretion. If a guest requests a song on your "do not play list," we will respect your preferences.

Q: Should I feed or tip the DJ at my event?

A: Providing a meal is included in our contract, so yes. Additionally, we will require two meals as both your Emcee/DJ and DJ assistant will be present at your wedding. While a gratuity is not required, it is greatly appreciated, especially if you feel we exceeded your expectations.

Q: Will my DJ take breaks?

A: No breaks for us! We provide continuous music from the beginning to the end of your event, as we always have two DJs present at every wedding we do.

Q: Will the DJ communicate with my planner and/or event coordinator before my reception?

A: Absolutely! Your DJ/Emcee will coordinate with your Planner or Banquet Manager prior to your reception. We work with all vendors, including your caterer, photographer, videographer, and most importantly, you, to ensure a smooth-running reception.

Q: Can you assist or help us plan our wedding?

A: While we don't directly plan weddings, we're more than happy to recommend other wedding professionals and services that can help bring your dream day to life. We have a network of trusted planners who can assist you with managing everything.

Q: Do you use banners, signs, or contests to promote your company during my event?

A: Absolutely not! Our focus is on providing exceptional entertainment for your special day. Our DJs carry business cards if anyone asks for contact information, but we respect the sanctity of your celebration without any promotional distractions.

Have additional questions? Don't hesitate to ask! We're here to ensure your wedding day is unforgettable.
