We have worked at so many different locations over the years, but sometimes couples don't know how to choose the perfect venue for their wedding day. Here are some questions and tips to help you pick the perfect place to say "I Do"
How do you find the perfect venue for your wedding? Here are some questions to ask yourself and your fiancé to help narrow down the venues you should look at:
The ultimate question - Roughly how many guests will you be having? This will really help narrow down your venue options then think about the following:
Do you want to get married in a church or a religious location? (Because this automatically means to need two locations, might need transportation between the two locations)
Do you want your ceremony and reception to be in one location? (This is often more affordable and convenient)
What time of year will you be getting married?
What geographical location will you be getting married?
Once you have a better idea of what you are looking for, you can begin looking for your location. Great resources to help find your venue:
Ask married friends who have gotten married in the same place. They may have done a venue search and can recommend some places or tell you places to avoid.
Look online. You can do a Google search for your area; look at sites like WeddingWire and The Knot. Obviously you can also search Instagram to see photos from past weddings. You can even check out local wedding shows that take place an local venues or can have other venues there to showcase.
Which one of these venues is perfect for you? a hotel, a country club, Block Island, a historic mansion, a library, a vineyard, a barn, a summer camp, a race track, a zoo or a private home? We have worked at a variety of locations for weddings and we are always happy to give suggestions if you are stumped.
